Common questions

What is a Fair Market Rent?

HUD's estimate of the 40th percentile rent, including typical utilities, paid by recent movers for a standard-quality unit in an area. It is used to set housing voucher limits.

Estimates for planning, not financial or tax advice. Rents are HUD Fair Market Rents (a typical, not a specific, unit), and other costs are government averages. Your own costs will differ.
